Specific steps for measuring voltage using a multimeter:
1、Prepare the multimeter, determine the type of voltage to be measured, set the selection knob of the multimeter to the voltage detection position, and select the voltage gear to a suitable value above the maximum value.
2、Connect its pen to the voltage and ground, insert the red test pen into the “V” jack of the VΩmA socket of the multimeter, and the black test pen into the COM socket.
3、Each gear area has a different number, to adjust the gear, but also before the test will be “zero”, in the absence of voltage measurement, the pointer should be in the position of zero voltage.
4、Connect the red test pen to the positive terminal of the circuit, and the black test pen to the negative terminal of the circuit.
5、Observe the reading on the multimeter, you can derive the voltage value of the circuit.
What to pay attention to the use of multimeter
1、Before using the product, never touch its metal parts, otherwise it will affect the accuracy of the measurement data, but also the danger of electric shock.
2、In the measurement, can not change the gear, especially in the measurement of high voltage, so as not to damage the measuring tool. If you want to change the gear, you have to cut off the meter pen and change the gear before you can start the measurement.
3、In the measurement, the product must be placed horizontally to avoid errors. Secondly, you should also pay attention to the placement position so that it will not be affected by the magnetic field, resulting in inaccurate data.
4、After using it, put the changeover switch on the maximum block of voltage. If it has not been used for a long time, take out the battery to prevent battery corrosion and damage to the product.
5、Before using it, familiarise yourself with each of its functions, select the appropriate gear, range, etc. according to the measurement object, and familiarise yourself with the method before you can measure better.
6、If the measured data is not clear, the range switch to the maximum, and then switch to the small range, so that the pointer in the scale of more than 1/2.
7、In order to ensure the accuracy of the data, it should be zeroed before measurement. And also pay attention to personal and product safety, can not change the gear at will, so as not to damage the instrument.
