1.The iron core in a transformer can be either core-type or shell-type. This classification is based on its structure. The core forms the magnetic circuit part of the transformer.
2.The high and low windings constitute the electrical circuit part of the transformer. Small transformers use enameled wire, while large transformers use flat copper and aluminum wire.
